Empi for Outlook¶

The Empi Outlook add-in captures the currently open message as an Empi task, or as a note when that is the better destination. It sends the subject, the visible plain-text body, the properties you select and a link back to the message in Outlook.

It does not read a mailbox in the background, scan other messages or access attachments.

Availability¶

The add-in is complete but is not yet published in the Microsoft Marketplace. It is currently available only through approved private or sideloaded builds. This page documents the workflow so teams evaluating those builds know exactly what it does; it is not a public installation guide yet.

Capture an open message¶

With the add-in installed by your team, open an Outlook message and choose Save to Empi. Select Continue with Empi if Outlook asks you to connect. Choose the destination and the task properties that should accompany the capture, then save it.

The item keeps an Outlook link, so you can reopen the source message from Empi later.

Connection and revocation¶

Manage the add-in connection in Settings > Integrations > Email capture. No API token is copied into Outlook. Disable that connection there to revoke the managed credential.
