Reminders¶
A note that has to come back to you at a specific moment can carry a reminder. It is the difference between "I wrote it down" and "it will find me again".
Setting one¶
Open a note and use Set reminder. Pick a date and a time. That is the whole one-off case: at that moment, Empi notifies you.
The reminder must be in the future. Empi tells you if it is not.
To take a reminder off a note, use Clear.
Repeating it¶
A reminder can repeat. Under Repeat, the presets are the ones you already know from Google Calendar:
- Does not repeat (the default)
- Daily
- Every weekday (Mon-Fri)
- Weekly on the weekday you picked
- Monthly on the same weekday of the month
- Annually on the same date
If none of those is your rhythm, choose Custom... and build the rule yourself in Custom recurrence:
- Repeat every N days, weeks, months or years.
- On specific weekdays, for a weekly rule (every second Tuesday and Thursday, say).
- Ends: Never, On a date, or After a number of occurrences.
Finding your reminders¶
In the notes list, the Has reminder filter narrows the grid to the notes that carry one, so you can see at a glance what is queued to come back.
When it fires¶
Empi notifies you at the reminder time, and again at every occurrence if it repeats. How that notification reaches you (in the app, in your inbox, or as a push notification on your device even when the tab is closed) is covered in Notifications.
